My Experience @Berkeley
CLASSES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
From VC fundamentals to classic case studies of Californian Tech, these courses deepened my understanding of the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem and the dynamics of innovation financing. Through analyzing real-world examples, I explored key topics such as go-to-market (GTM) strategies, product-market fit (PMF), expansion tactics, metrics for growth and performance, and navigating funding challenges, providing a comprehensive view of what drives both success and failure in scaling innovative ventures.
I had the chance to visit Silicon Valley giants like Visa, Google, and Tesla, and engage with industry leaders such as the VP of Engineering at Tesla and Michael Siebel (Twitch, YC), which gave me firsthand insights into the tech ecosystem's dynamics. Additionally, managing an entrepreneurial project to support global student entrepreneurship allowed me to demonstrate leadership, project management, and a commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration.
I integrated fundamental fintech concepts and technologies, while also learning how to leverage data for financial analysis, enhancing my ability to evaluate investment opportunities and financial performance.
I gained a solid understanding of the scientific fundamentals of climate change, explored emerging cleantech opportunities, and delved into the strategic, corporate, and policy aspects of integrating sustainable practices into business strategies to address global challenges.
I developed a strong understanding of how to protect innovations, navigate IP rights, and leverage intellectual property for competitive advantage. Working with a Technology Commercialization Officer, I analyzed how to commercialize a deeptech patent in cybersecurity using TEE technology. Additionally, I studied IP issues and go-to-market strategies in cases involving wastewater testing technology or agricultural technology.
I learned the foundational principles of managing product lifecycles, from market research and development to launch. I also explored key pricing strategies, focusing on how to balance value creation and market competitiveness while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.
I engaged in a variety of hands-on case studies, including salary negotiations, group negotiations, and syndicate bargaining. These exercises helped refine my skills in strategic communication, conflict resolution, and finding mutually beneficial outcomes in both individual and collective negotiation scenarios.
